The Son of "God Particle"

The discovery of what some are dubbing the ‘God particle' has ignited a firestorm of both curiosity and controversy in the worlds of science and theology.

At the center of the storm is the bespectacled 83-year-old theoretical physicist Peter Higgs.

He posited in an Edinburgh University paper back in 1964 that "he was formulating a theory of an elusive particle [or boson] to explain how an ordered universe emerged from Big Bang." (Reuters, July 5, 2012; emphasis supplied.)

The "elusive particle" is called the "Higgs' boson." A "boson," named after the late Indian physicist Satyendra Nath Bose, is ‘any of a class of particles that spin and obey statistical rules.'

Though Higgs and scientists at CERN (an ultra-modern, specially built scientific facility in Switzerland that made the discovery), may be described as ‘rabid atheists,' intriguingly, the language surrounding this "God particle," as well as the particle itself, dovetails nicely with what the Bible says about the Son of God--aka, Jesus of Nazareth.

Outer Space: "An Ordered Universe": God is not a God of "disorder." (1 Corinthians 14:33, New World Translation) The Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth, perfectly reflects this orderliness. (Hebrews 1:1-3)

So it should come as no surprise that Higgs describes the universe as being "ordered," and that subatomic particles "obey statistical rules." The three basic building blocks common to all life are the electron, the up quark, and the down quark.

The God particle gives these and other particles mass, "including the quarks that make up the protons that make humans and other forms of life."

The God particle is the common denominator, the standard element of what is called the Standard Model of Particle Physics.

Put in simple terms, the Standard Model is called a "theory of almost everything." This particle may well be the fundamental underlying structure or, infrastructure "of almost everything."

As with any structure we see today, construction workers built it. "Of course, every house is constructed by someone," reaffirms the Bible. "But he that constructed all things is God." (Hebrews 3:4)

God ultimately constructed our universal "house," using the pre-human Jesus as the contractor.--Proverbs 8:22-31; John 1:1-3, 10; Colossians 1:15, 16.

Biblical Astronomy?: The Bible discusses characteristics of the earth and universe in ‘simple detail,' and modern-day science corroborates what it says.

For example, the Hebrew, Greek, and Latin of Isaiah 40:22 indicate that the earth is a spinning sphere, and that the universe is a spinning expanding sphere.

Any explosion, no matter how large, is destructive instead of constructive, and eventually dies out. A universe so meticulously ordered does not come from disruptive chaos.

You'll never get an encyclopedia set from an explosion in a printing factory, or a supercomputer from an explosion in a metal factory, no matter how many times you blow each factory up.

The universe is being stretched out in a controlled, methodical fashion by what I call in my book "J-Force Pull Factor 7," or "pullotion." (Job 9:8; Psalms 104:2; Isaiah 40:22; Jeremiah 10:12) It makes total sense.

Inner Space: The "God gene": Physicist Dean H. Hamer, director of the Gene Structure and Regulation Unit at the U.S. National Cancer Institute, has identified what he calls "the God gene" in his book, The God Gene: How Faith Is Hardwired into Our Genes (2005).

First, "the God particle," now "the God gene"!

Plainly put, this "God gene" predisposes us to worship God. Wikipedia explains that "spiritual individuals are favored ... with an innate sense of optimism ... producing positive effects at either a physical and psychological level."

Hamer elucidates: "Religious believers can point to the existence of God genes as one more sign of the creator's ingenuity--a clever way to help humans acknowledge and embrace a divine presence."

Are You a Galactic Gambler?: Scientists continue to search for the floor-plan of the universe. But even with sophisticated atom-smashers we neither have the machinery nor the know-how to capture and interpret datum that is a snapshot of a celestial signature left a trillion light years ago.

In 2000, Stephen Hawking wagered that scientists wouldn't find the "God particle." He lost his friendly $100 bet. So, in this highly anticipated year of 2012, are you willing to say that Almighty God Jehovah and his Son Jesus Christ don't exist? Don't bet on it.
